About

Growing up in the bustling neighborhoods of South Buffalo, NY, I was always surrounded by the comforting aroma of Sunday sauce and freshly baked bread. Raised in a close-knit Italian family, my love for life and the outdoors was evident early on, with days spent basking in nature from dawn till dusk.

My love for the water grew with each family vacation, and by the time I was 15, I was confidently steering our family boat on my own. Life's journey then led me to the Boy Scouts, where I earned the Life Scout rank in just three years and was later honored with the Ad Altare Dei medal in 1970.

One of my fondest memories is of my high school romance with Julie Adrian. Our shared experiences, from simple dates to family vacations, always revolved around the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and exploring nature.

I carry with me culinary traditions from my childhood days helping out in my mother's kitchen. My signature Sunday sauce and bread are proof of my enduring love for cooking. Service and leadership have been pivotal in shaping me. At 18, I joined the USAF, focusing on civil engineering at Vandenburg AFB in California and later served at the 107th Civil Engineering division in Niagara Falls, NY. My dedication was acknowledged when, at 24, Governor Hugh Carey honored me with the NYS Medal of Commendation.

Outside of my military accomplishments, I established myself as a licensed Master Plumber in Western NY. For a quarter of a century, I led my commercial plumbing business, mentoring young talents, including my son. Watching them grow into accomplished Journeyman Plumbers is among my proudest moments.

Here at Shell Camp Florida, my love for people is evident. I cherish the happiness in a guest's eyes as they catch their first shark, the wonder of someone finding a rare shell, or the gratitude from someone enjoying one of my meals. For me, every guest is like family, and I take great pleasure in crafting unforgettable experiences, whether it's day trips, keys, or glamping.

So, when you visit Shell Camp Florida, know that you're not just a guest; you're joining the extended family Julie and I have lovingly built. Welcome and immerse yourself in the magic we've crafted together!
